Well here we are in Guernsey, before I tell you about that journey I will report on our stay in Salcombe. We arrived there on Friday and moored up on a buoy in the estuary not far from the town, Nigel and Phil drove down Friday night and arrived about 11, we picked them up in the little dinghy, much to Phil's disgust, for some reason he didn't trust Paul and Nigel not to get him wet. Saturday was miserable and raining, we had a big cooked breakfast on shore, then Paul and Nigel went exploring in the little dinghy, I went to the launderette and Phil went for a sleep! Saturday night, after showers and a drink in the yacht club we eat out in a pub. Sunday was a better day, we went for a walk along the cliff to see the sea then back again along the beach, lunch out then Phil and Nigel took Tizzy and Sammy home, its very strange without them, not having to take them off the boat every couple of hours.
We left Salcombe at 5 this morning and arrived Guernsey at 2.30pm. The sea was lumpy to say the least, but did not get any worse through the day, we arrived in pouring rain and are moored up on the pontoon outside the marina. We are not going into the marina, which you can only access 3hrs each side of high tide, as it would mean getting up at 6 in the morning just to move out again. We are planning to go to Jersey tomorrow the weather is looking ok for that move, then we leave Rowena, all being well there, come back to Portsmouth on Commodore Clipper wednesday night, drive home on Thursday and the holiday is over for a while.
